Upload wizard should verify syntax of user input fields to make sure they will not brake the template. See for example https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Plauen-Reusa,_Alte_Reichenbacher_Stra%C3%9Fe_32-34.JPG&action=edit&oldid=135833557 which results in wikitext with broken information template. A simple bracket balancing test is a minimum, but other issues can be tested for.
