1> Select Page Options -> Categories
2> In the Add a category type in a name and hit enter. The names are in red font color.
Also in FF 33.1.

Well, test2 doesn't have a String theory category, and existing ones are displayed in grey (should/could it be blue?).

Yeah, this is intentional. See bug 65517.
