For a short time in 2010 the Hebrew Wikipedia had a logo with a font that the community didn't like. That logo is currently stored at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikipedia-logo-v2-he.png And the SVG version is https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikipedia-logo-v2-he.svg It was soon replaced by this logo: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:New_logo_Culmus_David.svg See Bug 30065. InitialiseSettings.php says: 'hewiki' => '//upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/he/b/bc/Wiki.png' This is not great, because most other languages have something like this: '//upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/43/Wikipedia-logo-v2-hak.png' Beyond the mess in the config files, there's also another problem. It confuses people, because the bad logo, which the community deprecated four years ago, still finds its way to t-shirts, fundraising banners, and so on. What needs to be done: 1. The deprecated images at Commons need to be moved to some other name. These are: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikipedia-logo-v2-he.png https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikipedia-logo-v2-he.svg 2. These images at commons need to be moved to the good names in Commons: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:New_logo_Culmus_David.svg https://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Wiki.png 3. The logos from Hebrew Wikipedia should be deleted. 4. InitialiseSettings.php must be updated to point to the Commons image with the Wikipedia-logo-v2-he.png name. Thank you.
