I cropped the file from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Blondie1982.jpg in IrfanView 4.00 from 240x300 to 224x180. I uploaded it as a revision to the original file. It looks correct at the top of the Wikipedia page for the file, but under the File history the new image looks stretched horizontally. It seems like the old image is being displayed at the new aspect ratio for the new image. When I viewed the image at the Blondie_(band) page (see http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Blondie_(band)&direction=prev&oldid=321970338) it also looked stretched. When I selected Edit for the section, but made no changes, the preview also looks stretched. When I added '180px' in the image link, it was still stretched. But when I used '250px' the aspect ratio was correct. I intended to use '250px' anyway, and made that change. But the image should not have been stretched after I revised the image. It also seems like the old image was being displayed at the new aspect ratio, instead of displaying the new image. When I view the Blondie_(band) history, old revisions also show a stretched old image. This seems like a bug in Wikipedia that I must resize the image links on pages that use an image which has been resized to get the new image. Also, the history should show the images correctly.

This sounds like a browser caching issue that can be easily solved by a purge. > When I view the Blondie_(band) history, old > revisions also show a stretched old image. I couldn't reproduce this issue; it probably had the same cause as above. Closing as INVALID.
