The "Download as PDF" option in the Print/export toolbox outputs A4 paper (8.27 in x 11.69 in) which is standard in countries that have adopted the metric system. The United States, however, uses US Letter size which is 8.5 x 11.5 inches. Is there a way to get it to output US Letter size?
You should generally be able to print A4 documents with a slight resize as default behavior from any PDF printer I've seen; do you very specifically need US Letter size PDF sources for a particular reason?
Agree with Brion; scaling down ("Fit to available area") is usually no problem for a PDF handler. Is there a specific reason why it's problematic here, I wonder?
I get a pdf that prints to whatever size I ask, including US letter (8.5x11) or even #10 envelopes. This works on on MacBook and an iMac using both Safari and FF11 with Preview as well as on a Dell running Windows Enterprise Edition with both IE and FF with Adobe Acrobat Pro. This happens even though I'm in Europe. Maybe you mean that the layout is for A4 so it isn't putting the page breaks where you'd expect them in 8-1/2 x 11? Since you said it's not *printing* to 8-1/2x11 the problem would appear to be local to your system and not a MediaWiki bug and I'm marking this bug resolved.
