This issue was converted from https://jira.toolserver.org/browse/COMMONSDELINKER-14. Summary: Static changes to commons summary links Issue type: Improvement - An improvement or enhancement to an existing feature or task. Priority: Trivial Status: Closed Assignee: Bryan Tong Minh <bryan@tools.wikimedia.de> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Platonides <Platonides@gmail.com> Date: Tue, 30 Sep 2008 09:08:14 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CommonsDelinker changes links on the original summary to point to commons by prepending w:commons: to the pagename. a) The w: is unnecessary. All projects I tested do have commons: as a direct interwiki link. No need to proxy it through wikipedia. Foregins sites are unlikely to have wikipedia as w: interwiki and would want to use a different prefix anyway. b) If the link already began with a colon, the resulting link has double colons w:commons::Image:Foo.jpg It is a functional link, but uglier.
