Having the information icon flush against the edges of the image looks awkward, especially on images with borders. Here's an example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:USA_midsize_imagemap_with_state_names A couple pixels of padding should be provided to separate the icon from the edges of the image.
I checked in a new version of ImageMap/desc-20.png that now has a 1px margin around the info icon. The graphic itself is still 20x20 pixel so as not to break any of the existing code. I also sharpened up the 'i' while I was at it. I didn't update the svg file, but it should be easy to edit it to match if desired.

Trevor checked in a newer version of the information icon which includes a 1 pixel margin. This was deployed with 1.17. Marking fixed.
