Created attachment 9691 [details] Screenshot of issue This issue was split off from bug 33039. When using a web font that does not contain certain characters, and when those missing characters are used in a web page, Opera 11.60 on Mac OS X 10.7.2 will display spaces instead of using another font to display the characters. See URL field for URL to reproduce. A screenshot has been attached -- for clarity sake, I have selected all text, so that it is visible where text is displayed as whitespace. Amir to report upstream.
I'm not sure that it's a problem with a fallback font. These blank lines have text in Nepali. The same page works well in Opera 11.60 on XP.
Created attachment 9697 [details] Test URL in Opera Next 12.00b1193 Tested on: Version 12.00 alpha Build 1193 Platform Mac OS X System 10.7.2 Result: similar result as in 11.60 on OSX 10.7.2, although the line length appears to be only one character now.
Just tested with Opera 11.60. First page load was still an issue. Then I used the "reset" menu item to disable the web font. After that I enabled it again, and the Latin text on http://ne.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E0%A4%A8%E0%A5%87%E0%A4%AA%E0%A4%BE%E0%A4%B2?uselang=en was shown. I then went to google.com, deleted all cookies and history. Closed the browser, started up again and loaded the page. All was well. Conclusion: I cannot reproduce anymore, so I'm closing the bug as WORKSFORME.
