Students and faculty at Marquette University, Milwaukee have been unable to access Wikipedia for most of the last week, seeing the standard "Our servers are currently experiencing a technical problem. This is probably temporary..." message whenever they try to log in or edit. The issue is not limited to the University's IP address(es); the server still appears to be down when accessed from student's home computers. This does not appear replicable in my location (UK); I have access as normal. I am reporting this on behalf of the professor in charge of the WEP course running there and will forward any requests for further information to her. Thanks and regards.
Hi Yunshuiwiki -- Please attach an affected source IP as well as a ping and traceroute http://www.wikihow.com/Traceroute Thanks Leslie
yunshuiwiki: Thanks for reporting this! We had three smaller outages in thr last days but nothing that would have lasted "most of the last week", so it would be great if you could provide more information, as asked for by Leslie already.
Apologies, seems I was misinformed - students _are_ able to edit, but the WEP course page they use as a central hub for their work is unavailable. This issue is now being resolved elsewhere. This ticket can therefore be closed; thanks for your time. Yunshui
No problem - glad you found the reason for it.
