When a template is used for category insertion, and used with a variable for the category sort key, (such as sortkey, with template text being ) - the template messes up the sort key of the category, listing pages below "{" instead of the beginning letters. This occurs both with using ordinary text as sortkey, as well as variables such as PAGENAME.
Confirmed in 1.7.1 Template:Test: In article:
Rather: Foo of course.
Confirmed on test-wiki: http://test.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:6821_test. Note that category display on the page itself is also buggy, see Test:6821 (if that works).
This seems to be working fine, now. See http://test.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:6821_test. Probably has been fixed by someone in the meantime.
Looks like you're right! Great ! :-)
