These 3 images are missing: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bharadwaj_Dayala%27s_triumphant_return_from_his_world_tour_on_motorcycle.jpg https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bharadwaj_Dayala%27s_world_tour,_America.jpg https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bharadwaj_Dayala%27_world_tour,_Great_Ocean_Road.jpg
None of the files have been moved so this is unrelated to the recent swift issues. The file pages have a warning template about watermarks, so the images must have been visible originally.
*** Bug 70572 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Unlike the three images above, the file from bug 70572 https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:FAO_logo.svg is used in many wikis and is not intended to be deleted
Other files with the same issue: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:%C3%89mission_JAM_-_Venessa_Lachance,_Hearst.jpg https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:%C3%89mission_JAM_-_Philippe_Brown_et_Michel_Campeau,_Ottawa.jpg Please fix this bug.
These later 2 examples' pages have been deleted and restored at some point. Not sure if that means anything, considering that the first 3 examples have nothing of that nature in their log.
Seevral of the examples currently seem to work, although they didn't work before. See also [[c:User talk:Yann#DR images affected by bug]].
Interesting, thank you for the update.
Another such image is https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Tigris_River_Bridge,_Hasnankeyf,_Turkey2.jpg
I notice in the server admin log, that on oct 7, "start swiftrepl of commons originals eqiad -> codfw", if something went very very wrong with that, could it cause something like this? (To grasp at straws)
unlikely, swiftrepl is read-only on the source side and codfw doesn't serve any user traffic yet
